4th of July with In The Arena in Alamosa

With the help of a few College Student Athletes from Adams State and parents the 4th of July Celebration was a success.

One thing that I  was very proud of this year's 4th of July was the Father's involvment. As you will notice in the amazing pictures Beatriz Waddell took on that day most of our moms were absent due to work. They were working on the lettuce fields that morning. This oppened an opportunity to the fathers to get involved and share a special memory with their children.

Our two main events for the day were: An 800 meter Fun Run at Cole Park followed by an apperance as a group on Main Street at the 4th of July Parade where we were proud to sport and giveaway  L.L Bean Bandanas, Key Chains and lots of Candy.

Pablo Vigil a former Adams State Runner, Teacher and well known international mountain runner happened to be running by the park when our crew was finishing the race. Pablo stayed and shared a few motivational  stories with the kids.

Con la ayuda de algunos estudientes de la Universidad de Adams State y los padres de familia el evento del Cuatro de Julio fue todo un exito.
Una de las cosas de las que estoy muy orgullosa fue de los Papas. En las fotos notaras la aucencia de muchas madres. Lamentabemente muchas de ellas tuvieron que trabajar ese dia en el campo de la lechuga. Esta situacion le dio la oportunidad a los padres a involucrarse y compartir una hermosa memorua con sus hijos.
Los dos eventos importantes del dia fueron:
Una carrera divertida en el parque local y en seguida desfilamos en el desfile donde se celebraba  la Indepedencia de Estados Unidos en donde muy orgullosos portamos y regalamos panuelos de L.L. Bean, llaveros y muchos dulces.

Pablo Vigil un reconcido corredor de montana, ex corredor y alumno de Adams State y maestro ya jubilado pasaba por el parque cuando nuestros ninos terminaban con la carrera y se tomo el tiempo de compartir unas historias de inspiracion con los ninos.
